History is full of people who are ambitious, creative, and complete failures. The newest idea, technology, trend or strategy are worthless. Why? Because there’s something else you must figure out first or nothing will work. You will sabotage yourself.

You see, there are certain principles that if screwed up will cause you to fail regardless of what it is you’re attempting to accomplish.

Let’s take a look at 7 of them right now:

1: Low Self-Esteem & Self-Worth
If you don’t believe in yourself and what you do, then don’t expect anyone else to either. People can tell when you’re not confident and that makes them uncomfortable. The sooner you realize you deserve success the sooner you’ll achieve it.

2: Poor Habits
You can NOT make 6 or 7 figures a year with 5 figure a year habits. The math just doesn’t add up.

3: No Direction or Vision
Clarity is under-rated. You can’t say “I want a new house” or “I want to be rich” or “I want a new job” and then magically expect to get it. Everyone wants that stuff. If you want to succeed then you need to have a clear and specific vision for where you’re headed.

4: Negative Environment
You know, I’ve never once heard a successful person say “I achieved all of this despite being surrounded by a bunch of idiots!” Okay, Scrooge may have said that. I can’t remember. The point is that success and stupidity are both contagious. Choose who you hang around wisely.

5: Assuming It’s Going To Work The First Time
If you’re committed to success then you’re going to have to be flexible. There’s an abundance of people who tried something once, failed, and then stopped. No one remembers them. Don’t be one of those people.

6: Bad Attitude
If you’re constantly negative and see every reason why someone won’t work, instead of why it will then I can make you a promise: you’re going to die broke and alone. No one wants to be around, support, help, or do business with someone who has a bad attitude.

7: Worrying About Failing
When you’re worried about messing up you become timid and hesitant. I’m no chef, but those aren’t ingredients for success. Success favors the brave.

Regardless of your definition of success, understand that it has nothing to do with an idea, luck, timing, and so on. It has everything to do with Y O U.
